  • Export sequence at 1440 x 1080

    Hi
I have some image sequences that I have used in 2D and 3D programs for special effects over the l ast two weeks. I exported from FCP and have images 1440 x 1080, which is what I need.

Today I have tried many ways to export but all sequences are 1280 x 720. Research in the manual says the exports are 72 dpi. Opinions on other web pages say 72 dpi and others say export/image sequence exports at the resoultion of the original clips in FCP.

naturally I’m coming up on a deadline and need to make 1440 x 1080 image sequences for background images in some 3D work.

Is there trick I used before and have forgotten in the last two weeks?

FCP 6, doing File/Export/Using Quick Time Conversion/Image Sequence

I’m using png, 30 fps; there are no options for image size. If I freeze frame in FCP it is the correct resolution, but I can’t save freeze frames one at at time to make my image sequence.

    Thomas,

Your still image seqs. will be exported at the pixel dimensions of you sequence. Check your sequence settings. If they are 720p, at 1280×720, rather than 1080i, at 1440×1080, your stills or image seqs. are going to export at that size.

Since I’m not there sitting beside you, I can only hazard a guess, but it sure seems to me as though you mistakenly created your present seq. at 720p. Is that it?

The current sequence is 1440×1080 according to the bin browser. The stills are rendered at 1280×720.

But…I just found out I can use 1440×1080 .mov files in the 3D program and it handles them like a series of stills. So I’m in good shape…..until I need FCP to make a still in the resolution of the sequence.
