    Hello,

I have a quicktime here, when I open it it says,

    Format: Oefi, 1920×1080 (1888×1062), Millions+

    Normal Size: 1888×1062 pixels
    Current Size: 1888×1062 pixels (Actual)

When I put this quicktime in Final cut, final cut tells me it’s 1920×1080.

Could someone please tell me what the actual size of this quicktime is and why it would be 1888×1062 and not 1920×1080 and also why final cut would see it as 1920×1080 if it was actually 1888×1062

Also, I believe the “Oefi” where the name of the codec is supposed to be is because it is uncompressed and has come from windows. I could be wrong but that seems to be what I have seen everytime I get an uncompressed quicktime from a PC.

    Thanks

1920×1080 is its correct size. The other dimension is it’s display size in QuickTime. You need to convert this media into a codec supported for production in FCP.

    All the best,

I just put it in final cut for test purposes to see what size final cut would say it was.

Why is there a different Display size? Surely if it’s real size is 1920×1080 it will just display it at 1920×1080?

You might think that, but there are a lot of reasons QuickTime displays the way it does, including the version number, the OS version, the computer, available RAM, monitor size, screen resolution, blah blah blah.

    All the best,

    Tom
