    Can anyone help me?

I am currently working on a documentary that has been captured in HDV 1080i 50 format. I have an imac 2007 with 2GB RAM and 2GHZ dual core intel processor. When editing in Final cut pro naturally my computer is not handling the HD footage very well. I am wanting to make a rough edit using multiple camera angles. All footage is being edited from pre-captured footage files on my external hard drive so I dont have the original footage. I have tried searching for articles regarding the offline work flow and techniques on final cut pro but cant seem to find anything. I just want to make a rough edit in a lower resolution and be able to flip between different shots and be able to export it back into HD quality.

Any help would be much appreciated as I have to complete this for my client ASAP.

    Thanks
    Tim
