Is there a way to capture from a DVD to FCP? I currently have FCP 6 and have been capturing only miniDV. I have a high school student who has some drama performances on DVD that he would like to be edited into a reel and he asked me whether we can take footage from a dvd and capture it in FCP?

Any advice would be very appreciated.

    Many thanks

    Benedict

MPEG Streamclip is the answer, and it’s free. https://www.squared5.com/

You can also try using “Handbrake”, a free compression software. This will create the mp4’s you want.
