Trouble capturing with XL2 and FCP
Hey gang,
I have footage that I shot on the XL2 that I successfully captured and got working in Final Cut Pro 6.After the initial edit, I decided to capture one more clip into Final Cut and now am experiencing time code breaks (where there aren’t any) OR when it does successfully capture, the footage is jerky (like it’s trying to catch up).
I’m not terribly familiar with capturing anything other than regular NTSC footage at 29.97. Now that I’m working with 24p, I seem to be getting confused with all of the presets and settings.
When I was able to successfully get the first batch into the system (when everything worked fine), I THINK I was at the preset for DV-NTSC 24p (23.98) with the capture set at DV-NTSC. I found a few articles on presets through these forums, tried different presets and even tried the Advanced Pulldown capture setting.
With all of the different settings and presets, I think I may have gotten all twisted around.
(Note: while typing this, Final Cut unexpectedly quit – how nice.)
Anyway, I just need help figuring out why the camera and the computer don’t seem to get along anymore. Is there something that I can do to fix this problem?
Thanks all,
Tim
