I have a new Intel iMac with the latest Mac OSX 10.5.4 with 2GB ram and 750 GB harddrive. I’ve been using iMovie for years and recently “upgraded” to iMovie’08 which i love, because it is so easy and intuitive to use, but it lacks certain features and I’d love to learn to do more with my movies. So I sat in a 2 hr class at the Apple Store on Final Cut Express/Pro and thought it didn’t look that tuff to learn. I opened it today at home and was going to start experimenting and remarkably discovered that only two out of the four interface windows are showing up on my screen. The Browser or Bin window and the editing window show up, the window at top right and the timeline window below do now show up, even when I restart the program. I searched the manual and it looked like Window>Arrange>STandard should have fixed the problem but it didn’t. Does anyone have any suggestions? In the past when i’ve opened the program, all four interface windows always appeared, and i never had to worry about such a basic issue right out of the gate, but here I am at the starting gate with an intractable problem. I’ve never gotten over the hump on this program and wonder if i ever will.

Try creating a new sequence. File>New>Sequence I believe. Saying that these two items are missing, sounds like a missing timeline to me.
