    Hi. A question.

Ive noticed some odd things with rendering and exporting from final cut. I have a 2 x quad core, 6 gig ram and all media on a striped raid array of 3x1tb 7200rpm hard drives. Yet I seem to have to render a 22 minute standard DV project completely when I re-open it, and when I export it is taking a long time, 40+ minutes…. is that normal or is there something wrong? Any ideas to speed things up?

    Thank you

    Regards

    Conan

How much material is on your external hard drive? The more loaded your hard drive is, the longer it takes for certain processes to complete.

Have your previous render files been moved or relocated?
Your application may not be able to find them if they have been moved, and force you to re-render upon new startups.

What format are you using to export? Self-contained QT movie, or conversion to another format?
