capture problem
Not sure if anyone can help me. I’m cutting FCP 4HD on a G4.
I’ve been able to log and capture fine in the past. I moved my system recently and am having problems now. I’m trying to digitize form a DVCAM deck, via firewire. I can control thedeck, set in and out points, etc. But when I try to capture I get stuttering video and a “Locating timecode break.” prompt. The system attempts to capture but breaks the clip into several subclips until I hit escape and quit out. I’ve connected, reconnected, changed firewire cables, restarted, tried dioffernet tapes, etc. to no avail. Any suggestions. Thanks! -

Describe the signal path.
It sounds like the FW cable is going through the drive before getting to the camera.
Put them on seperate ports if you can.
