  Merged files again

  More on that note,

  What’s the deal with merged files anyway? Are they reliable? Are they accurate on an EDL? Can they break their “mergedness” once they are in the timeline or will they always be match framable?

  One FCP user told me that “Dealing with merged files is a bad idea all together.” In my case the audio guy shot 25 tapes worth of footage with no Sound on Tape, and gave me cd’s of wave files. Is this right? how else should I merge these if not with a “merged file?”

  This has been driving me nuts for months now, some one please help!
