  Copy P2 mxf files from PC drive to Mac drive

  I’m starting a project shot on HVX200 with P2. This is my first time working with this format.

  The MXF files were put onto an external PC formatted drive.

  I want to copy those PC formatted MXF files from that PC drive onto an external Mac formatted drive so I can edit in FCP.

  When I try to copy them I get an error message right away – and they won’t copy.

  Is there a basic problem or procedure that I’m unaware of?

  Hi there,

  You didn’t mention what error you are getting?
  For FCP to import the P2 footage correctly, it will need ALL of the files. Just the way they were on the card.

  If you’re having a finder problem, it might have to do with user permissions. You can get ‘info’ on the folder and look to see if you have the right to ‘write’
