  • Help Mpeg imports to timeline but with no audio!

Hey guys. I have a Sony Cybershot and it shoots mpeg movies. Well, I can import the mpeg movies into Final Cut but for some reason there is no audio to the mpegs. It’s only the video. I’m trying to put these into the timeline but they’re worthless without the audio. Can somebody please tell me how to get these mpegs audio and all imported into Final Cut the right way. I’m working with Final Cut Pro HD if that helps any. Thanks ahead of time.

It’s not importing because the audio is muxed with the video (combined into one file). You might try MPEG StreamClip or Mac the Ripper to demux the audio and convert the video to a more edit friendly format.

A Google search for them will take you to a few sites.
