  Upgrading to XP x64 with dual core MANY CONCERNS

  Will AE take advantage of dual core processors if it is running on Windows XP 64 bit OS?

  Rumor has it that it won’t work… because my understanding is with x64 being able to access multiple PROCESSORS (not multiple cores) is what the advantage is…

  Can AE access the multiple cores of the single processors in the same way?

  The reason I ask is the work computer I have is a Dell XPS 410 dual core processor, and we are taking x86 Vista off and sticking x64 XP on to be able to speed up the workflow.

  That and my version of Adobe Production Premium doesn’t support x64 Vista.

  Pleeeeeeeeease help.

  Using XP64 will not speed up AE cause AE is still 32bit!
  The only reason to choose XP64 is when you need more than 4GB memory.
  AE CS3 is capable of using multiple Core/CPU for rendering or for AE7 you can use Nucleo Pro, the two can be used in XP32 and XP64.
  On the other hand, Multiprocessor/core rendering eats a lot of memory …….
