    Hello,

I’ve posted about this problem before, but with no solutions yet. When I capture video, I’d like to hear the video through the computer speakers. My setup is a mini dv camera hooked up via firewire to the computer with no NTSC monitor for previewing. The only audio I hear when I’m using device control through the log and capture window is the audio from the camera, which is a very weak speaker. Can someone please tell me what is wrong about my setup? I don’t understand why the sound isn’t coming through the computer speakers.

For $80 on eBay I purchased a set of Roland Micro Monitor MA-8 speakers. For the money, they are WONDERFUL for NLE use. By plugging the mini-plug end into the earphone mini-jack on most cameras, you get great sound for an affordable price. I use the Panasonic AG-DVC60 and the Canon XL2 as analog/digital converters for all of my Beta SP material going in and out of my PowerBook G4 & PowerMac G5. Both of them have earphone mini-jacks. With the XL2, you control the volume with its own dial and/or the dial on the MA-8s. Good luck.
