Getting footage from Final Cut pro into Final Cut express
Hello, my cameraman/editor on a recent shoot sent me a DVD with ‘selects’ of our very beautiful HiDef footage. Problem is, I can’t get any of my Mac or third party programs to be able to import the footage. It is in two files Audio TS and Video TS, and will play on my DVD viewer but nothing else.
Also, does anyone know of how to get a FC Pro codec into FC Express so I can look at all of the footage which is saved on a Portable Hard Drive? Thanks so much.

Mpeg Stremaclip by squared five software.
You have to spend the 29 dollars for teh Mpeg 2 QT component from Apple in order to make it work.
Your cameraman send you an encoded DVD file. You should ask for the originals as this stuff will be further severely compressed.

David, bought and installed the MPeg 2 Quicktime add on but no soap. When I try to open the DVD in Quicktime, I get a message saying “This movie could not be opened”. Any further thoughts?

You need the Mpeg streamclip software to actually do this. You need both that an the QT component.
