  converting to avi file

  I have a one minute piece that I need to convert to an avi file so that it can be used as an intro for a cd that another company is making.

  They have requested an uncompressed avi file.

  I have tried it a few different ways and come back with unrendered areas, missing audio or choppy video & audio.
  I switched to uncompressed video and audio. Video in millions of colors.
  I tried a few different audio rates.

  Any suggestions on what presets to use to get a clean file?

  Hi,

  I just did a test on my Mac and everything looks fine. You’ll want to use the Cinepack codec for avi and the audio rate shouldn’t matter. But you will need to make sure that you render all before you export. That will get rid of your unrender areas.
  You can’t really rely on choppy video as a problem. It might be a speed or performance issue with YOUR computer. Unless you’re running a top of the line Mac with fast drives. It might playback slow on your computer, but will be fine after it’s imported into their NLE. Although I got realtime playback.

  Unfortunatley it’s best to see the results of an export on the machine it will be used on.
