  Firewire Camcorders for Hobby use

  It seems like most camcorders stream USB and not IEEE 1394. Is there a known location that I can find a good list of home video cameras for a Final Cut hobbyist? Don’t need anything fancy, but I’m finding it difficult to get video into FC with my current Sony DVD camera that only uploads to the computer via USB – any help would be appreciated, either help finding a camera with the 1394 capability or help with the way to make my current camera accepted by FC!

  Virtually EVERY DV camcorder has a FW output.
  Some might ALSO have a USB connection.
  For FW jacks, check:
  All Sony DV.
  All Panasonic DV.
  All Sharp DV.
  All Canon DV
  And all recent JVC.
  And more brands as well,

  I have bough many fine DV camcorders from Pawn Shops of under $150 each… all with FW.

  The trick is that most camcorders HIDE the FW jack under an impossible to locate rubber cover.
