  Big photoshop file

  Hi, I created a big photoshop file (kind of 720 x 13000)white letters, for rolling credits and when it rolls some sparking colors appear in letters… Any idea to avoid this problem? Thanks…

  Details Please!

  1. What are you sequence settings? Is the motion quality set to BEST?
  2. What is your sequence CODEC? If it is DV you can expect less than favorable results on the move)
  3. What speed are you rolling at? faster speeds will look worse.

  Why not do the roll in FCP’s Boris title tool? OR Render the movie in after effects and import it in to FCP

  I’d start by applying the ‘Flicker Filter’ to the .psd

  Eventhough FCP handles .psd files great, it can really tax the system, since FCP treats the files as an individual program. Just like ‘pre-comping’ If you are only using it for a credit roll, it seems like a lot of work for a simple move?
  If it’s still giving you problems you need to flatten the .psd file. Create either a pict or tiff file instead of a .psd.

  Thanks for your comments. I used DVCpro50 seeting for the timeline end the file is a flatten .tiff file. I tried this file in an uncompressed timeline setting. That was better but not enough for me. The reason I use this big photoshop file is that it’s a center aling french credit roll and when I use the scolling text tool in FCP with the asterisk trick, it works but not for the lines in witch there are accents, it did not….

  We just installed Boris Graffiti so I hope it will help whit this project..
