Harsh audio – is there a fix in final cut pro 7?
Hi all,
I am editing an interview in which the sound was recorded via a lapel mic and the audio is too harsh – not massively, but there are certain points in which the interviewee speaks louder and it isn’t nice.
Could someone please tell me if there are any audio filters on Final Cut Pro 7 (or Premiere Pro) that I could apply or play around with to fix this problem?
I fully understand that audio is a tough one to fix and one to get right at the time of recording, but if there is any help I would much appreciate it.

You could try to fix it in Sound Track Pro. Here’s a short tutorial:

Really there’s a reason you need to use headphone when recording interviews.

iZotope declip is one of the best audio repair modules. It is part of the iZotope RX set. Not cheap but best value in terms of quality of tools for price.

It’s expensive but a bargain, if it makes the difference between having and not having a program.
