  Reducing pixels?

  Hi,

  I’m quite new to this website… I hope I am typing in the adobe after effects forum… But anyway, I was wondering if anyone knew how to reduce the number of pixels in an image? It sound simple enough, but I cant find a way to do it. The reason I want to do it is because whenever I’m filming, I’m using a low quality camera, and when I take footage off the web of make some effects, it just doesn’t look right because it has more quality than the original scene.

  i’m not sure that i am understanding what you are doing…

  but if you have low resolution footage (say 320×240), you can work in a comp the is that resolution. same goes for frame rate… if you are using footage that is 15 fps, you can create a comp that is also 15 fps.

  you’re not forced to use a standard preset like dv (720×480, 29.97 fps). you can change those settings and even create your own presets to suit your needs.

  Just found what I was looking for, the effects called ‘mosaic’ from sapphire plug-ins 🙂
