I’m editing a music video in FCP7 and the audio for the song is a wav file. I opened up the file in a program I have to see the properties and it said format is pcm_s24le, sample rate 441000 Hz, and bit rate 2117000 bps. I’ve read you’re supposed to convert wav to aiff in FCP and I’ve also heard you can edit using wav. I just wanted to ask the pros on here for an answer. Thanks!

wav or aif is fine but convert to 48khz in Compressor first as digital audio for video is standard 48khz. Stay at 24 bit

Thanks Michael. What’s the reason for doing that? Does it make the audio sound better in the exported video?
