Trying to edit 48 fps footage in a sequence set to 30 fps
Hi, most of my footage is shot in 30 fps, but some is in 48, so I set my sequence to 30. This seems to cause problems for my 48 fps footage when I bring it into the timeline and render it. What can I do?

Well, do you want the 48fps footage to play back slow motion, or regular speed? It’s going to be jumpy because 48 isn’t divisible by 30…
If you want normal speed, you’ll have to take it into Compressor, change the frame rate, and set all the FRAME CONTROLS in the inspector to BEST.
If you wanted this to be slow motion, first convert it to ProRes, then use Cinema Tools to conform it to 29.97fps.

So far what I’ve done is to simply convert it in MPEG Streamclip to ProRes and set the frame rate to 30. It honestly doesn’t look that bad. But I wonder if it would make a significant difference to do it in Compressor the way you suggest. Do you think so?

Compressor does a way better job, especially if you set the FRAME CONTROLS to BEST.
