2 23 inch Apple Cinema Displays connected to new MacBookPro….. possible?
When my new MacBookPro 15″ Retina arrives, I’ll want to connect my two 23 inch Apple Cinema Displays (DVI).
I spoke with apple on the phone, the pro apps guy, and he said no problem, just get Thunderbolt to DVI and go.Of course there’s more to it.. I have 2 eSata Raid boxes I will want to continue using in the short term, fw800 archival drives, and numerous usb 3.0 external drives.
While researching the TB distribution hub market, I chatted with the Sonnet techs. They reported that I can only drive one external DVI monitor via Thunderbolt on the MBP (which includes the HDMI).
Without purchasing a new Thunderbolt display, how can I get the second Display up and running???

This is what I use, so I have my laptop, two 24″ monitors and then my broadcast monitor.
But mind you, FCP 7 won’t launch with that installed, unless you hack it to open. I’m looking up what that hack is now. Not so much a hack as a software bypass.

Do you run all three on USB 3.0 to DVI or mix with other outputs, i.e. HDMI ?thanks,

No. I have one connnected via Thunderbolt, and one via that USB3 thingy. And then also on Thunderbolt is an AJA IoXT, that sends a broadcast signal to my broadcast monitor
