• Apple Final Cut Pro Legacy

  My Final Cut Pro 7 project takes about an hour to open

  Hi, Can someone please help?

  I have a project that takes a very long time to open, sometimes an hour or more.

  The file size itself is only 51.1 MB but the Render Files are 14.89 GB. My computer RAM size is 8GB of which more than half is still free.

  I have used many effects in the video but only have one sequence window open.

  This is the only file that takes this long to open.

  I haven’t been able to figure out why this is happening. Can anyone offer an explanation?

  As a general rule I never have FCP 7 projects larger than 15mb or else they are prone to extremely long loading times. A project over 50 mb is likely to take a very long time to load.

  Hi Matthew,
  How do I make the project smaller? Is it this large because I have so many effects? If this is the case then how should I reduce the file size?
