Export settings confusion
Hello, bit of a novice question here.
So I worked with a video in 25fps in FCP7. I used the Slow Motion on the frames and they are now showing 50fps when I right click and look at attributes. My Sequence also seems to be 50fps, though I’ve just created another one at 25fps and copying over the files worked (however they are still 50fps of course).
I want to export using Avid DNxHD to 25fps, 1920×1080.
However, am not so sure what to select? When selecting Avid DNxHD from the dropdown (Export using Quicktime Conversion) menu, should I enter 25fps into the Frame Rate?And secondly or the “Size” button: Do I select 1920×1080 here? My current size is shown at 640×360.

Look at your sequence settings. Are they 640×360 and 50fps? It sounds like you edited everything at 640×360 50fps…and not 1920×1080 25fps. That is a problem. YOu need to be in a 1920×1080 25fps sequence…

Thanks, actually the sequence setting says 1280…

Then you got all sorts of weirdness going on. You want 1920×1080…your footage is 1920×1080…but your sequence is 720p50. Well, 720p50 is a normal setting…that’s the normal frame rate for that size.
You need to copy and paste your footage into a 1920×1080 25fps sequence. And then there will be gaps between most cut points you need to fix…this always happens when going to a sequence with a different time base. And then export.

So yes, once I’m in 720 I have to go with that.
Just one more question: now I made the mistake of slowing down footage shot in 50fps, but not by Cinema Tooling it to 25fps, instead I made the error of actually slowing down the 50fps footage so that the entire session remains at 50fps.
I tried dropping this into a 25fps sequence but the end result is jittery.
Now if I export this to Apple Pro Res 422 25fps will there be any issues with say the youtube upload? I noticed it doesn’t look as jittery as the other solution so am more inclined to go with that, before having to reedit my entire session.
However, IF you know a way of reconverting all my clips to 25fps leaving everything in the sequence timeline as is that of course would be ideal, so I simply get the same video, but with the 25fps slow motion files.
