    This has been a mystery for me since FCP X beta days. Why does Final Cut Pro add (id) at the end of both aliases to original media and of “optimized media” files?

    Example:

    * 2014-04-25 18.12.36.mov — becomes — 2014-04-25 18.12.36 (id).mov

    Any ideas, please?

    (NB: apparently posted in the wrong “basics” forum first here: https://forums.creativecow.net/readpost/200/897845 — this is not a basics question at all, sorry 😉
