Horizontal lines issue need professional guide
I am editing a documentary that is recorded on Sony PMW-EX3 HD (1920*1080).
I convert footage to apple ProRess22 (25 fps 1920*1080).
After editing and exporting the final project i notice horizontal lines appear specially in moving and pan shorts. These lines also show in recorded files before converting. While playing it on Sony 42″ LED it lags on screen and show horizontal line as well.I wana know is this
1-Problem in camera recording formate ?
2-Footage Conversion problem ?
3-Exporting problem ?sample image…..

Check to see if your field order is reversed, but this may be a camera artifact, or it happens during the conversion. What is the native recording format? AVCHD?

How are you sending the signal to the LED screen? That’s interlacing…perfectly normal in many instances. Works when broadcast, played from tape, or on DVD or BluRay. But if played from a computer…if the display is connected directly to a computer…then it won’t play back properly. Computers don’t do interlacing.

I thought it was interlace, but thought maybe too it could be a combing artifact.

I work in upper field. Yes it was recorded AVCHD.MP4 format. I can saw these lines even camera recorded source footage before editing.

I convert it to .mp4 (1920*1080) with H.246 and use USB to preview it on LED.

I also access that it is due to interlace of footage but why hollywood movies trailer don’t show such behaviour.

Hollywood movies aren’t shot interlaced, nor are they shot with AVCHD cameras. And you are viewing a computer signal on that TV. Computers don’t display interlacing properly.
