    Hi all:

I’ll be in a situation where I will need to install my copy of CS3 onto a laptop to use remotely for about a week. At the end of the week, the laptop must be returned and I’ll go back to working from my suite.

What is the proper procedure to uninstall After Effects (actually all of CS3) so that a serialized copy of my software isn’t hanging out there? Is there an actual “uninstaller” on the install CD’s, or do I just trash the files/folders in the Applications folder, or…?

there should be an uninstaller… on mac it is in application>utilities>adobe installers, it should be similar for windows.

i can’t speak for adobe, but i have heard that adobe doesn’t mind too much if you are installing one version on two computers that will be used by one person but not at the same time… like have a system at work and also at home, but your not operating both at the same time. i don’t want to get you in trouble with adobe, but i think that adobe is more interested in businesses that may try to run many systems with just one version of software…

if you do remove the software, pull your 3rd party effects from the ae effects folder, or you will be reinstalling those too when you reinstall ae.
