  • Image quality question – editing in 1080p or 720p

    Hello,

I’m cutting a showreel of my camerawork together and I’m currently editing on a 1080p timeline (most of my footage is 1080p). However, I have some shots that I would like to reframe or add some keyframe animation. For this reason I’m considering editing in a 720p timeline so that I can crop my shots while keeping them at full resolution… The alternative is to simply scale up the video I want to reframe on my current 1080p timeline. My question is – Would I maintain a higher image quality cropping my video in a 720p timeline, or if I scale up my shots and end up exporting my 1080p timeline to 720p will I get the same result?

    Thanks!
