• Apple Final Cut Pro Legacy

  Suddenly my viewer and monitor have turned green

  Please help.

  I’m editing on Final Cut Pro 7. Suddenly today when I opened it up, both video screens (the viewer and the canvas) are green. No video image plays although I can hear it.

  I’m at a complete loss. The only thing I did today was update I-Tunes. This may be wrong as I had to update a few things to plug in a new IPhone 5s. Darn Apple.

  If anyone has any ideas, please help.

  Are you editing any unsupported format (AVCHD/H264/Mp4)?
  If so, convert the stuff to Prores.

  Hi. No, I was half way through an existing HDV edit. I assume by downloading a new version of the operating system that it knocked out a codec. I even tried opening final cut express and the monitor was also gone on that programme. In the end I decided to reinstall Final Cut Pro and now everything is working normally. Thank goodness.

  Try to delete your render queue and thumbnail cache. Sometimes they can get corrupted and show green screens.

  thanks for that info mike, my viewer turned green and that fixed the issue
