  Hello All

  Please can some one give me a quick low down on final Cut transfers

  I am in SA so we use PAL

  Betacam SP – Hard Drive

  DV – Tape (vise versa)

  Maybe having a few other tips might help me

  I am a rentals and Transfers Coordinator at Digital Film Service..

  Please.. Help 🙂

  For DV…simply connect the deck to the computer via Firewire. Launch FCP. Choose the DV/NTSC Easy Setup…then go into LOG AND CAPTURE MODE. Make sure that the deck control on the deck is set to REMOTE.

  For BetaSP…you’ll need a third party capture card. AJA.com, decklink.com, matrox.com. Install the card and the drivers for it. Connect the card to the deck with the best connections possible (Component is the best, unless you have a deck with SDI connections), and RS-422 deck control. Then choose ProRes NTSC as your Easy Setup, and choose the card for your deck control (you’ll have to set up the card to capture the signal too…that would be in the card manual).
