  Converting 720p to 1080i

  Greetings everyone,

  So I am editing for a little TV program and all of the footage was shot in 720p with my sequence settings to match. Another network wants to air the program but in a 1080i format.

  I’m a decent editor but I’m fairly new to all the technical aspects of video and broadcast.

  My question is: What would be the most efficient way of converting 13 episodes from 720p to 1080i?

  How do they want the show delivered to them? Digital file, or tape? Tape would make this a snap. Output to tape via a capture card like AJA or Decklink or Matrox and the conversion is done via hardware, on the spot, in real time.

  They want it delivered by tape, Sony HDCAM.

  Yup…simple. Just set the output to 1080i60 (1080i 29.97) and the card does this all for you.
