issue with FCP7 and my Imac (lion).
I’m having an issue with FCP7 opening on my Imac (lion). I’ve clean and reinstall both hard drive and FCP7 and the same problem occurs. The program loads all the way until the last screen where it asks for the drives, the the screen disappears and goes back to the desktop page. I have cleaned reinstalled OS and FCP7 5 times this weekend to no avail.
I did at one point click the (don’t show me this) on the page that asks for the drives by mistake….how does one get back to see that???
Any help is greatly appreciated. I’m not an editor, I’m a dp that needs this just to cut simple reels for myself. I leave the editing to all of you way more capable than I am.

If your lion system is set to 64bit then FCP7 won’t work because it’s a 32bit program. You have to set your system to 32bit.

That’s not correct. My Lion system (10.7.5) on my MacPro is set to 64bit boot and FCP 7 works fine. In fact Lion boots into 64bit automatically by default. I have FCP7 on Mountain Lion as well booting to 64bit automatically and FCP7 runs fine (10.8.4).

FCP7 works with my MacBook Pro (mountain lion), but for some reason, I may have moved stuff inadvertently on the IMac because it worked prior to this. Reinstall has been futile

Try erasing the drive completely and rebuilding the system from scratch.
