  Mixed media footage with jagged edges

  i have 5 different footage sources (all PAL and all SD- most 720×576) and some of them might need deinterlacing because i can see jagged edges in the sequence.
  the final output will be shown via computer on a movie projector.
  i’m not sure what would be the best sequence setting and how best to export it. also, i’m not sure how to tell if something needs to be deinterlaced inside of the sequence before export.
  i tried sending the sequence to color and rendering it out as ProRes 422 but i still see jagged edges on some of the clips.
  what to do?

  Deinterlace. or set the sequence settings to FIELD ORDER:NONE. Interlacing looks fine on TVs, but not on computer monitors. Video projectors…maybe. Some people use them as TVs.

  Thanks for the quick response.
  Should I deinterlace only the clips where I spot the jagged edges or deinterlace the whole sequence when I export it?

  All of them. It’s easier to make the sequence have NONE for Field Order.
