I must have hit something cause now all myt cross dissolves went to dip to color and it seemed to put them in between most clips. Easy fix as this was a shorty but what did I hit??

*EDIT- Sorry, this is a FCP7 question and I answered for FCPX.

You may have had many clips in the timeline selected, then double clicked the dip to color transition, which applies it to the ends of the selected clips.

Is command-T still set to the default, cross dissolve?

You can use the timeline index to select just the dip to color transitions to delete/replace them with your desired transition.

i thought the only way to specify a transition as a default is to right click on it in the browser,
    and choose “Make Default”

i;d like to learn a new way, though
