Log & Transfer issue
Installed FCP7 on my Macbook Pro, Lion OS.In the transfer window the video level on all clips look fine. Once transfered it looks 4 f stops low in both the viewer and on the timeline. But in clip editor it looks fine.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled the software. Still the same.
Help! -

Many of those gamma and color issues are fixed by installing QT.7.
Do it if you don’t have it done yet.

And note that none of those windows show an accurate representation of the video levels of your footage. Not Log and Transfer, not the Viewer, not the Canvas. L&T is the most wrong….the Viewer is the most accurate. They might be CLOSE to what you see when you export a final…they aren’t spot on.

of course you’re right about video levels in any of the windows, but the confusing part is the footage from my camera was fine on a six year old mac running the same FCP7. the new laptop is where I’m having the problem. The clips are fine when dumped to a drive and run on AVID.
That’s why I’m perplexed.

QT 10.1 is unfinished software and buggy. QT7 is what FCP needs to work right. Find that on the LION installer under OPTIONAL INSTALLS I believe. Or download it from Apple and install and update fully.
