    This seems it should be simple, but I can’t figure it out.

    I’m trying to make the grey area in the timeline above the video tracks smaller…it’s wastin space! See image below, area of wasted space circled in red.

    What would you have there instead? If it’s smaller…then something needs to occupy that space. What do you want to put in that space so it’s not “wasted?”

    Your timeline window is separate from the rest…grab the bottom right corner and drag it smaller until that area is gone. Then move it down and BAMMO! You have space between your timeline and the monitors. You can fill that with…whatever you are planning to fill that with.

    Although I have no clue what that might possibly be. Oh, the Timecode Window…

    Or…drag the separator between audio and video up…so you have more room to see the audio.
