  Is there an alternative to Proxy Mill?

  I often need to quickly make a copy of the footage I shoot, preferably with visible time code, in a file small enough to send via Yousendit which is under 2GB. This is for clients to choose takes, sound bites or get approval.

  Sometimes it takes too long to go through the whole FCP process and then export. I know about Proxy Mill. I was wondering if anyone knows of a similar product?

  Compressor. If you make a preset that includes timecode burn. But it does require a bit of compressing knowledge to get all the settings right. That’s why I prefer the simplicity of Proxymill.

  Obviously not specialist software like ProxyMill but this could speed up your workflow depending on the method you currently use.

  Shane Ross did a good tutorial on this using FCP7 and Compressor which while not as quick or easy as ProxyMill speeds up the process a good amount.
