  • The Waveform Cache Files Folder does not have read/write access

    Hello

I have read several posts and forums regarding the issue I’m having but I haven’t been able to reslove it yet and I’m getting pretty desperate. Any advice gratefully received.

When I go to launch FCP the full message I get is:

The Waveform Cache Files Folder does not have read/write access
Please select a new folder in the System Settings Dialog or correct the problem on disk.

Then FCP quits before I can go in to the system settings and attempt to resolve this.

I am on MAcBook Pro OS X 10.6.8 2.66 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo

The version of FCP is 6

It has worked without fault for me for years.

So far I have been through Disk Utility and reset permissions and verified disks and repaired them.
I have deleted the contents of the Waveform Cache Files Folder and tried deleting the folder itself.
I have rebooted. tried a PRAM and and SCM restart as per other users with this problem.

Can anybody offer any suggestions??? Many Thanks.
