  • Transcoding Nikon J2 slow motion footage to edit

Posted by Hannah Brown on February 10, 2013 at 10:08 am

    Hi all,

I was hoping someone may be able to help me figure out the best settings to transcode the NIKON J2 slow motion feature to edit in FCP 7?

    It records in H.264 MOV/400fps 640×240

I have Apple Compressor and MPEG Streamclip to transcode.

Thanks for any help in advance!

Open the clips with MPGStreamclip. Make sure that the size is 620×240 (Unscaled).
Just need to uncheck “Interlaced Scaling”. Use Prores as the conversion codec.
Then you need to conform the Prores clips (CinemaTools) to the time-base you want to edit with.
