How to import REDCINE-X PRO .XML timeline into FCP
Hey there,
I have been trying to familiarize myself with the REDCINE-X PRO, FCP workflow with RED footage. I am playing with some 4K RED ONE footage and find myself running into trouble when starting an online edit. I couldn’t find my solution on the net since everyone seems to operate differently when it comes to RED workflows so I thought I’d ask the forum myself.
My steps here are as follows:
(Let me know if I am doing anything wrong.)– Import R3D files into REDCINE-X PRO
– Export proxies (1280×720 AppleProRes(LT) with 1/4th Debayer setting)
– Import and edit proxies in FCP
– Export the offline edit out as an .XML
– Import the .XML into REDCINE-X PRO and the R3D directories.
– Export Timeline (allclips) as QuickTime Wrappers, generate FCP .XML enabled.

– Import .XML in FCP

Now here is where I run into my issue. The dimensions of the sequence are all incorrect and need to be rendered, despite the settings I choose when importing the .XML. I want my online to be in 2K but I am not sure how to do that exactly. I read to use Quicktime Wrappers generated in REDCINE-X to connect the .XML but doing so I can’t seem to figure out how to configure the resolutions and adjust the debayer settings.
Thanks for your time.
