  • Can’t Match Frame back to clip in Browser w/out reimporting clip

I’m working on a bunch of sync sound sequences for en editor.

I made up a new project, imported the clips as I would import for his project, then synced my clips in sequences.

I thought I was being clever and that I could easily just freshly import the clips in the same way for his project (so that I could match frame back). Then I copied my project sequences into his project.

But when I match frame back to clip, FCP says I have to reimport the clips into the Browser. This defeats the whole purpose!

Usually I have always worked on FCP projects where I have a mirror drive of the footage, work inside my own projects, send the sequence in a project to the editor and they copy and past the sequence into their project, no issue – and Match Frame back to the clips in the Browser always works.

    Any thoughts, or ideas?

Used PluralEyes to assist me a bit, but I don’t think that should make a difference.

    Thanks!
