  RT Dropped Frames

  Sorry if this has been posted before, but I cannot find it on the forum anywhere. I keep getting this:

  RT Extreme has determined these dropped frames were caused by slow disks. Please try:
  -Increasing the speed of your disks.
  -Decreasing the number of RT layers.
  -Limiting your RT bandwidth in User Preferences

  I have a G-raid firewire 800 7200 rpm 500gb external harddrive, and am using it as a scratch disk. I also convert all my footage to Prores 422 to make it easier for my editing, but it still drops frames. What am I doing wrong?

  And which computer?
  How much RAM?
  How is your sequence (layers, effects,..)?
  there are many factors on the RT performance of a system.
  But you don’t really need full RT when editing; if some frames drop snow and them, you won’t ven notice it.
  What is really annoying is the window warning of dropping frames/
  Do as my self and uncheck the “Warn next time on dropped frames”.

  I have a 2009 imac with 4gb of RAM. 2.66 GHz Intel core 2 duo. The only thing on my sequence is a sped up clip, but usually it happens to all of my sequences after 15 clips are added on. I foolishly have never thought of unchecking the “warn next time on dropped frames” box though, and I rarely get the extreme RT issue.
