Restoring HDSLR footage via Log and Transfer
I’ve run into a bit of a problem. A client has asked me to make some edits to an old FCP 7 project that was a collection of 5D, P2 and T2i footage. I had originally been able to ingest the T2i footage through Log and Transfer after editing the cameras.plst file in the EOS plugin v1.2 directory structure.
Since that time I had updated the the EOS plugin to v1.3 thereby overwriting my edits to the Camera.plst file.
Once I tried to restore the project I realized that Log and Transfer couldn’t mount the T2i footage because I hadn’t edited the camera.plst. I made a copy of the original Camera.plst file as a backup (just in case) and then went ahead and edited the code to add the T2i to the list of accepted cameras. Log and Transfer no recognizes the T2i footage BUT it no longer contains any of naming metadata we used when we logged the footage and also doesn’t recognize the mounted drives for batch recapture. What’s worse is that this has affected all of my projects. FCP no longer “remembers” any of the naming metadata or recognizes mounted drives for 5D footage in any of our projects on this computer.
I tried copying the original unaltered cameras.plst file back to it’s folder but the problem remains.
Is there any known way to fix to this?
Thanks for any help that you can provide.
