  What is CompressorJobController and why is it always running?

  Final Cut was rendering slower than usual for me so I hopped into Activity Monitor to see if there was anything unusual running. I had seen CompressorJobController before but never paid it much mind, now I’m curious as to what it exactly is – google didn’t help.

  I quit out of all Apple programs and tried quitting CompressorJobController and CompressorTranscoder from the Activity Monitor. Even with no programs running they both popped back up and started running again.

  What are these processes doing and is there a way to kill them if Compressor is not active?
