    Hi

I’m cutting a music video in FCP, shot on the RED. I’ve transcoded out of RED CINE Apple Pro Res 422 PROXY 1920×1080 so I can cut using multi clips easier, knowing that I need to uprez after the cut is locked.

So far my cut looks great and is locked and uprezed up to Pro Res 422, however, there are several shots that we punched in on and I want to go back to the RED footage and create 2K files just on these selects in my timeline.

What is the best way to reference these selects and get back into RED so I can re transcode them at 2K, without manually doing this one by one?

I’m hoping this doesn’t sound too confusing.

    Thanks in advance.

    Marshall

If you have maintained the file name exactly you can send to Color and relink to the RED r3d files and grade in Color. That way you have the best grade latitude, plus any zoom ins are using the RED originals. You can then render your output as ProRes422.
