Timeline freezes
Posted by Fernando Zuniga on August 21, 2012 at 7:20 amWhy is it, that, when I place a motion graphic or a video filter, or when Im cutting fast, the timeline freezes,and FCP crashes?The processor speed on my mac is, 2.8-6gbChipset Model: ATI Radeon HD 5770.

August 21, 2012 at 7:36 amWhat format of video are you working with? How much RAM do you have? What version of FCP? MacOS? Quicktime?

August 21, 2012 at 7:41 ammy guess is the codec your using on your clips… try converting your clips to apple pro res for your codec (and swapping out the old clips with reconnect media)
