Hi -What is the best format setting to use in FCP7 when bringing in footage shot on a Canon C300, at 1920×1080 HD at 25fps; final product is for broadcast. Grateful on any tips on why you think any particular format is best. (Current thinking is Apple Pro Res 422 HQ; using Canon’s MXF plugin for FCP to convert original files). Many thanks!

Funnily enough, not only would I recommend it but I’ve just done exactly what you describe for an upcoming job (installed the latest version of Canon’s MXF utility and converted to Pro Res 422 during the Log & Transfer.) It takes a while for 100 gigs of material (I left it going all evening while I did something else) but TBH converting it all to Pro Res is the most stable way of going about it, a little time spent now will save a lot of potential timewasting later.
