  FCP 7 When pasting a new clip into sequence, other clips on the shift over, how do I make it stationary

  When I cut and paste a new clip from viewer into the sequence all the clips in the sequence shift. How to I make all the clips in the sequence stationary when pasting a new clip in front of them.

  Use overwrite instead of insert…is that what you mean?

  When drag right into the sequence from viewer (not through canvas window) and the whole sequence shifts
