    Hi guys,
Brand new here and in need of some knowledge/help/tips
I was editing a trailer/video of my own and I saw the bourne legacy trailer. I really liked the video transitions they used in it. I went through the ones available on FCP 7 but i can’t figure out which ones were used, except maybe venetian blind wipe and band wipe. I cant see how they switched it between vertical and horizontal wipes even for venetian and band wipes, or if they just used different ones period.
If anyone has any thoughts, i would love to hear them.

    here is the trailer.

You could fake it with FCP wipes and animating the crop, etc, but it would not be all that. To get a better look, create a series of layered black boxes/slits and animate the movement, cropping, etc of those. Since you have FCS3, I would use Motion to animate a series of masks. Then you would have more control over the shape and timing and it would be easier than trying to replicate this in FCP by layering.
