  • Audio Issue using Merged Clip for Replace Edit

I’m working in FCP 7 with H.264 video and separate WAV audio from a mixer.

The camera recorded its own audio along with the video, but it’s unusable.

So, when I merge the clips, I get a total of 4 audio tracks with each clip (2 sets of stereo tracks). I thought I was being a clever time saver and did the rough edit with the source audio, with the intention of replacing it with the good audio later (using Replace Edit).

Replace edit only replaces the exact content used in the sequence, so despite the good audio being merged with the video, it’s track 3 and 4, where the source is 1 and 2, so the replace edit essentially has zero effect in the timeline.

My question: Is there a way to reorder the audio tracks in a merged clip? Is there any other solution other than manually replacing all the audio with In and Out points?

    Thanks in advance.

    Mike
